How-to & Troubleshooting
Sea freight is the most cost-effective and mainstream shipping method from China to Tanzania. Goods from Jiangsu can be conveniently consolidated via river or land transport to major East China ports like Shanghai or Ningbo as the ports of loading, with Dar es Salaam Port, the largest and busiest port in Tanzania, as the destination port. By comparing shipping routes from companies like Maersk and CMA CGM, priority should be given to direct services to control the shipping time to 28-35 days. For bulk cargo over 20 tons, using a 40-foot high-cube container for Full Container Load (FCL) transport can reduce costs by 15-20% compared to Less than Container Load (LCL). If door-to-door service is required, a combined rail-sea intermodal model using the China-Europe Railway from Suzhou West Station, transiting via Djibouti Port to Tanzania, can shorten the journey by 5-7 days compared to pure sea freight.
Shipping Modes:
Full Container Load (FCL): If our cargo volume is sufficient to fill a 20-foot or 40-foot container (for example, a 20-foot container can hold approximately 25-28 cubic meters of goods), FCL is the optimal choice. It offers relatively stable transit times and high cargo security, as there is no need to share the container with other shippers.
Less than Container Load (LCL): If the cargo volume is relatively small (typically less than 15 cubic meters), LCL is a more economical option. Our goods will share a container with those of other shippers and will be separated and distributed at the destination port after arrival.
